Johnson Family Barbecue is a family owned and operated little BBQ joint here in Durham County, NC. All our meats, including pork, chicken, brisket and ribs, are cooked on-site in our smoke pit over 100% hickory wood because "It's all about the WOOD". Wayne will often fire up his favorites such as Jerk Chicken or jalapeno mac and cheese, so make sure to check out the special board or our Facebook page to see what we're offering. And since everything we make is homemade, including our famous banana puddin' and other deserts, you can count on finding something you'll love.
Wayne is the grillmaster and head chef. He grew up in the Smithfield area perfecting his pork and eastern style sauce over the years (as every NC man does). It has become so popular that we had to start selling it by the quart!
Allison grew up as a Northerner, cooking her whole life. She has been known to say " I could always cook, now I cook Southern". As the day-to-day manager, she's the person you will usually see behind the register, serving food and chatting with customers. She also doubles as the catering coordinator, specializing in making sure your event is a success, every time!
Our mission is to provide the community with delicious, affordable home cooking in a friendly, welcoming environment. We pride ourselves in our interaction with the community while attempting to accommodate all our customers' requests. We strive to make sure you get a great meal every time you walk in the door, one you would be happy to tell your family and friends about.
